The retrospective exhibition of couturier Azzedine Alaïa was designed for the reopening of the Palais Galliera, and features 70 iconic pieces of the designer, from his first collection in 1979 to more recent collections.
Born in Tunis, Alaïa moved to Paris in 1957 to work in fashion design. In the late’s 70 after working with Thierry Mugler, he opened his first atelier and started to design the wardrobes of famous personaliites as Greta Garbo. During the 80′s he became a well recognized couturier and his influence is still apreciable in today’s fashion.
